MOBIVAS platform will provide for the integration of 4 basic entities:
Value Added Service Provider
Operator with Core Network Infrastructure
Intelligent Base Station and Access Network
Terminal / User

Main interests of NEC Heidelberg within MOBIVAS are
Support of user-mobility:
the user is able to access the service platform from any terminal and any place.

Location aware and profile dependent value added service provisioning:
the user shall be offered with services selection according to his actual location and his personal profile, which consist of preferences, terminal capabilities and network QoS.

Seamless addition of value added services by third party service providers:
any third party service provider should be able to offer its service by using the MOBIVAS open service management platform

Service traffic monitoring and accounting:
crucial to enable implementation of advanced billing and transfer of revenue models

Opening new business models for Operators and Service Providers:
Converging the edge centric Internet services paradigm with the network centric telecommunication services paradigm within UMTS networks opens new business models for operators to ensure and speed up the pay off of their UMTS investments and for Service Providers.
