Duration :

January 2009 to December 2011

WSAN4CIP project will:

  • Enhance the reliability of critical infrastructures by providing surveillance data for the management of the CI
  • Increase the dependability of critical infrastructures security, by providing self-healing and dependability modules
for the WSAN (Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks)
  • Provide a dependability engineering methodology and appropriate tool support
  • Demonstrate the feasibility of the project’s technical approach by using energy generation and distribution as an
    example of a critical infrastructure.

We develop in WSAN4CIP dependable protocols to securely store data inside the WSAN (Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks), and to distribute large amount of information among the WSAN nodes, which has several interesting applications like sending code updates to the nodes. We intend to integrate WSANs into the supervisory infrastructure in place (also known as SCADA system, SCADA = supervisory control and data acquisition). We will further improve indispensable security protocols such as software attestation or secure localization.

Please find the project’s at the official WSAN4CIP web site.
